Every year, the International Builders’ Show (IBS) brings thousands of industry professionals to one location to see the newest products, technologies, and design trends in residential construction. In 2020, the show came to Las Vegas, and our team was on the floor taking it all in.
What We Saw
The 2020 IBS featured hundreds of exhibitors showcasing everything from framing systems to smart home technology. For our team, the most exciting areas were the fireplace and glass product displays. Manufacturers unveiled new linear gas fireplace models with wider viewing areas, improved electric fireplace flame technology, and frameless glass systems designed for both residential and commercial applications.
Fireplace Innovations
Several of our top brand partners debuted new product lines at the show. We saw gas fireplaces with cleaner ignition systems, better heat distribution, and slimmer profiles that fit into tighter wall cavities. On the electric side, new LED flame effects looked more realistic than ever, making electric fireplaces a strong option for condos, apartments, and commercial spaces where gas lines are not available.
Glass and Design Trends
The glass industry continues to push boundaries. We spent time looking at new shower enclosure hardware, ultra-clear low-iron glass panels, and glass railing systems that minimize visible hardware for a floating effect. These products are already making their way into Las Vegas homes and businesses, and we are excited to offer them to our customers.
